Other Financial Literacy Programs

Global Money Week

Nabil Bank celebrates Global Money Week each year by organizing financial literacy activities aligned with the annual theme, primarily targeting teenagers and youth. During the campaign, the Bank conducts programs across various provinces, covering topics such as saving, financial management, digital banking, loans, and fraud awareness. Implemented in 306 schools, colleges and other groups with active support from branch and provincial teams, the initiative has trained more than 21 thousand students to date.

Digital Financial Literacy

Nabil Bank has conducted digital financial literacy training in rural municipalities through its Branches, addressing the significant risk that low digital financial literacy poses for individuals in rural areas, who face greater vulnerability to financial fraud and scams.

As banking increasingly shifts from traditional branches to online platforms, understanding key financial concepts becomes vital for making informed choices and fully benefiting from digital banking services.

473 participants received training on digital financial literacy, reporting increased confidence in using digital financial platforms and improved understanding of online safety and fraud prevention.

Skill Based Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development Program

Nabil Bank conducted 16 skill-based financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs across 6 provinces — Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim — training 761 participants, particularly in rural and underserved communities, with practical financial knowledge and entrepreneurial skills for income generation and self-employment.

The program combined financial literacy education (savings, budgeting, debt management, insurance, investment planning) with entrepreneurship development training (business opportunity identification, business planning, marketing, financial management, enterprise sustainability), alongside skill-based training tailored to local economic opportunities such as mushroom farming, fruit farming, goat farming, cow and buffalo rearing, and off-seasonal vegetable farming — implemented in collaboration with local governments.

More than 90% of participants reported the training was very helpful, citing new technical skills across goat farming and management, off-seasonal vegetable farming, starting a business with little investment, buffalo farming, mushroom farming, and apple and walnut farming.

Collaboration

Nabil Bank implemented a wide range of programs in collaboration with different organizations with the core objective of promoting financial literacy, digital banking awareness, women's empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and strengthening the overall financial ecosystem of Nepal.

Through these collaborative initiatives, the Bank delivered training covering savings and budgeting, formal banking systems, loan and investment management, digital banking usage, credit awareness, cyber security, fraud prevention, and business planning.

Altogether, more than 7 thousand individuals received financial literacy and entrepreneurship-related training through these collaborative programs.

Branches

Nabil Bank, through its branches, regularly conducts financial literacy and entrepreneurship development programs for youth, women's groups, SMEs, and local communities across the country, covering budgeting and saving, formal banking systems, loan and investment management, digital banking, credit awareness, cyber security, fraud prevention, and basic business planning.

Through these branch-level initiatives, more than 5 thousand individuals received training, with the majority reporting improved knowledge of financial management, banking services, and responsible financial decision-making.
